Established in Trinidad by Dr. Anthony N Sabga on July 27, 1945, Standard celebrates 75 years as the leading company for furniture, home appliances and electronics.

Expanding its business, Standard Distributors travelled to Barbados and began operations in September 1959 as a partnership with Da Costa Limited, a subsidiary of Barbados Shipping & Trading Company Limited. In 1967, the ANSA Group acquired the fifty percent owned by BS&T and assumed full management of the company.

Currently, Standard Distributors Limited, with its eleven strategic locations in Trinidad & Tobago and one in Barbados, continues to uphold its reputation of “Never Beaten on Quality”. Our team have placed our sole focus on one major factor, our customers, and for this reason, highlighted in the centre of our Head Office reads, “Quality is not an Act … It’s a habit”. A simple yet powerful string of words, which we aspire to hold true to. Whilst quality is something which our products have become associated with over these years, for us it doesn’t stop there.

Quality must translate into our service to our customers, our focus, our accessibility, our product knowledge, our after sales service and our branding, and our delivery– quality remains at the epicentre of every single interaction and transaction.

This quality of service is what separates us from the rest and allows Standard to proudly claim the position of being Trinidad and Tobago’s largest and oldest locally owned furniture and appliance merchant, a position we guard and protect wholeheartedly.
